Bangladesh is in a unique position with one of the largest youth population in the world, estimated to be around 53.0 million, which is approximately 33.4% of the total population.

Unemployment Rate in Bangladesh remained unchanged at 4.20 percent since 2016.

Currently, 1 million Small and Medium Enterprises are led by the Youth.

The number of unemployed people in Bangladesh increased to 2.70 Million in 2016 from 2.60 Million in 2015.

Vision 2021, The central development agenda of the government is focused on meeting the needs required
for the youth to become skillful.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He is the current Deputy Minister of Education and a Member of Parliament from Chittagong-9 constituency.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury was born in Chattogram, Bangladesh on 26 July 1983. His father ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, was a Bangladesh Awami League politician who served as the mayor of Chattogram, the second-largest city in Bangladesh. He had held the office for three consecutive terms. Mohibul graduated from London School of Economics with a Law and Anthropology degree and was called as a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn following post graduation from the University of Law.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury (commonly known as Nowfel) was elected to Bangladesh Parliament Jatiyo Sangsad on 30 December 2018 in 2018 general election from Chattogram-9 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate. He was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Education in the 4th Cabinet of Sheikh Hasina. Besides being a Deputy Minister in Bangladesh, Chowdhury also holds the political post “Organising Secretary” of Bangladesh Awami League in the party’s Central Committee. He was a partner of The Legal Circle, and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh before his ministerial appointment. Apart from politics, he is also a member of Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the managing director of private TV channel Bijoy TV.

Professor Vincent Chang, PhD

Professor Vincent Chang is Vice Chancellor of Brac University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Professor Chang has more than a decade of experience in international higher education and over 20 years in the US industry, with proven records in building new capabilities, new businesses, a new graduate school and a new university. His expertise is in defining strategies, translating them into high-impact actions and new opportunities, and executing them to yield desired results. He is considered a visionary leader and inspirational communicator for developing strategic alliances and joint ventures. Before joining Brac University, he served as the inaugural chair for institutional development at Chinese University of Hong Kong in China, as the founding president and planning director of University of Business and Technology in Oman (academically affiliated with Virginia Tech in the US), and as the inaugural executive dean of Peking University’s HSBC Business School, established as China’s first all-English international business school. He was instrumental in bringing this brand-new school to an internationally recognized status. His experiences in the US span over medical imaging, energy, investment, marketing and consulting, with startup firms as well as well-known institutions such as JP Morgan, McKinsey, ExxonMobil and the US Federal Reserve. Professor Chang holds his PhD in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), another PhD in electrical engineering and computer sciences from University of California at Berkeley, master’s in public administration from Harvard, MBA from Yale, and BS in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University. He is fluent in English and Chinese, conversant in Japanese, and a beginner in French and Arabic.

Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed, PhD

Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed is the founder and director of the BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL), BRAC University since August 2005. She is also the designated in-charge official of the Residential Semester at Brac University’s Savar campus. Additionally, she has collaborated with Open University, UK for the completion of the Make Your Teaching Experience Count (MYTEC) Course. She has also been supervising various other initiatives such as the implementation of English in Schools which is a Robi-The Daily Star joint venture; administering the Pilot Phase of the mEducation Project to teach English through mobile telephones; coordinating the training of BRAC Primary School Teachers’ Training Programme, Medhabikash, and Skill Development Training for Advancing Resources (STAR) in collaboration with UNICEF and Brac; and the Education Management Training for Afghan Education Ministry Officials conducted in 2008 and 2009.
Sarwat Abed received her MA in English Literature from Dhaka University in 1978 and BA (Honours) in English Literature in 1974; she per took in short courses in Communicative Language Teaching and Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) from Leeds University in 1979 and 1990 respectively as well as Early Childhood Development from Glasgow University in 1990.

Don trains people to communicate with the customers effectively, build great teams, and inspire strong leadership among managers. The Class Valedictorian 2008 from ULAB, Don also conducts career build-up workshops at East West University (EWU), and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He also offers corporate client training sessions for Bdjobs, Prothom-Alo Jobs, Business Express, and for Chartered Accountants in ICAB.
